We began roasting in 2019 selling coffee primarily in Colombia, the United States, and Switzerland. Roasting is a passion for us—it allows us to connect with the origin, carefully oversee the delicate process of cultivating and selecting the finest beans, and highlight the exquisite characteristics of each batch.

How we got our name: La Venta

Back in the 50s and 60s, the train used to stop at a small village where passengers would buy local coffee and baked goods.

Over time, people began to identify the place by the name La Venta which in this context means “The Market” in English. Eventually, this small town officially adopted the name “La Venta de Cajibío”,  but people continued to refer to it simply as La Venta. Back then, our childhood was divided between Popayán (the capital of Cauca) and La Venta de Cajibío.

Our brand is therefore a tribute to our roots, to our family, and to the small coffee producer who strives every day for a better future.

La Venta de Cajibio is a small village in Cajibío, department of Cauca, Colombia, in the Central Andes mountain range at 1880 masl, with an average temperature of 60-68 °F and an average annual rainfall of 2222 mm. This mountain range is one of the three main branches of the Andes in Colombia and runs through much of the western part of the country. These exceptional natural conditions create the perfect environment for producing high-quality coffee.
